Swoopes Signs With Storm
One of my favorite WNBA players has found a new home with the Seattle Storm. The Seattle Storm signed Sheryl Swoopes yesterday to a multi-year contract. Terms of her agreement were not disclosed. Swoopes joins the Storm as a three-time league MVP (2000, 2002, 2005). She has also been named to the WNBA All-First Team five times, and to the All- Decade Team after leading Houston to four consecutive league championships from 1997-2000. Swoopes is also a six-time WNBA All-Star and earned the game’s MVP award in 2005. She has spent her entire career with the Houston Comets. The West should be looking real hot this summer!

Well, she is 37-yrs old and after she came out about being gay I think that is when she stepped away. I remember she also had some financial difficulties too, but I don’t ever really remember hearing that she had retired.
