Mile High- Nuggets 118 Mavericks 105 !!!
The Dallas Mavericks were coming into tonights game against the Nuggets with a little more confidence. The Mavericks who have had it tough time at late with Dirk Nowitizki going down with a leg injury and being 0-8 against teams with a winning record after getting Jason Kidd. The Mavericks were trying to hang on there playoffs hopes alive at the 7th seed taking on the Nuggets who as of now are on the outside looking in and with only a month left in the season this game tonight had a playoff type atmosphere.
The Dallas Mavericks started out blazing by scoring 39 points in the 1st quarter but the problem with the Mavericks has been there thing that has stopped them from becoming a champion and thats they do not play any defense. They gave up 60 points to the Nuggets in the 1st half in the 2nd half it continue the Nuggets dropped 58. The combination of Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony carved up the Mavericks for 63 points. Kidd had his best game returning back as a Maverick 19 points with 15 assit the top scorer for the Mavs was Josh Howard with 30 but it wasn’t enough due to the Mavs had 17 turn overs which resulted in 19 points for the Nuggets.”It’s not about how he plays,” coach George Karl said an hour before tip-off. “We’re just happy he’s back and we’re going to celebrate his health, we’re going to celebrate his coming off of major cancer surgery, and we’re just going to celebrate. This has nothing to do with basketball. We’re just happy he’s with us.” The Nuggets have won 5 in a row and are one game in the lost column behind the Warriors and Mavs.
