Let’s Play Two
You guys out there know just how big of a Florida Gator I am. The heart and determination the Georgia Bulldogs showed yesterday in beating the Kentucky Wildcats and the Missisippi State Bulldogs in the same day to reach the SEC finals was astounding. Sundiata Gaines led all Bulldog scorers with 36 combined points but fouled out of both contests. That left the burden on unsung hero’s such as Billy Humphrey, Zack Swansey, and the big man in the middle Dave Bliss. Swansey made the most of his opportunities. In overtime of the Kentucky game with the Bulldogs down by two Swansey made a spinning three pointer with less than three seconds remaining. Humphrey made his pressence felt in the second game. With 1:37 left Humphrey scored all six of his points. On a driving lay-up, a step back jumper and two free throws. What goes unsaid is how good the Bulldogs defended all game long. In the two games the Dogs gave up 56 to Kentucky and only 60 to Mississippi State. Now the Dogs get a little rest as the championship game was moved back to 3:30. They take on Arkansas that beat top seeded Tennessee 92-91.
