The Atlanta Hawks started the season tonight two and a half games ahead of the New Jersey Nets. Johan Santana made his New York Mets debut in Florida taking on the Marlins. Santana who will be under the microscope the whole season due to being a in New York and for Mets fans its been 21 years since the Mets were champions and after last season’s collaspe the Mets are out to take care of unfinshed business. Johan Santana went 7 innings struck out 8 batters and allow 2 runs . At the plate for the Mets David Wright drove in 3 of the 7 runs and help the Mets get and easy 7-2 win for the Mets.
Candace Parker matched her career best by scoring 34 pts and grabbing 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Vols to the regional finals for the eighth straight year with 74-64 win against Notre Dame on Sunday night. Parker was the star of this game from the beginning. She scored Tennessee’s first eight points.
Former NBA player Isaiah Rider was arrested at 2:30am on Saturday in L.A. for “allegedly” stealing a car. Rider, who sometimes goes by the name J.R. was pulled over after failing to stop at an intersection. Police ran the plates and found them to match those of a car that had been reported stolen in South L.A. Rider is currently being held on $25,000 bond.

The Phoenix Suns remain on hot streak by beating the Nuggets last night but that’s not the real story it is the amount of point the Suns scored in the 2nd half 35 in the third and in the 46 a combine 81 points in a half to get the victory.
