Courtney Paris - What More Can I Say!!

Saturday’s game against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State ended with Sooners beating OSU 81-71.  Amanda Thompson of Oklahoma was the lead scorer of that game with 23 points and 13 rebounds, but my MVP of the game has to be Courtney Paris.  Paris is on a crazy streak of 85 consecutive double-doubles and on this game she finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds, recorded her 86th straight double-double.  She also has a twin sister who didn’t play that bad on Saturday either.  Ashley Paris, added 14 rebounds for Oklahoma.  Courtney is the starting center for the Sooners and is in her junior year.  She is also the only player in NCAA history male or female, to have 700 points, 500 rebounds, and 100 blocks in a season. Paris was named the 2007 Associated Press Women’s basketball player of the year.  No word on if she will enter the WNBA Draft this April.

She is an outstanding player. I mean that record of double doubles speaks for itself. I would say if she ever got into shape she would be even better but she has been ballin her entire career. It’s women like her and Candace Parker and Mya Moore that I say the WNBA is in good hands and the best is yet to come.

Courtney Paris is the best and will always be a legend. She and so many others have given me a lot of confidence and insperation to want to play ball. I really do appreciate her, and her sister opening my eyes to wanting to have a brighter future, and to make it to Sacramento to play for the Monarchs.
