Atlanta Falcons win coin flip gets 3rd pick

Written on February 22, 2008 – 7:56 am | by chanceblack |

atl.gifBefore the combine started there was a coin flip to decide who gets picks 3,4,5.  The winner was the Falcons, with the Raiders getting 4th and the Chiefs getting the 5th.  Ok Mr.Smith here is your chance to justify the all those releases you made.  Where do the Falcons go from here?  Well Matt Ryan-QB is definately going to be looked at hard at the combine on Sunday.  Or maybe even a possible trade to get some veteren help.  Seems to me that coach Smith is going young and rebuilding.  What better place to start than with QB that has all the intangibles and can make all the throws?  With the emergence of Jerious Norwood and Roddy White this can certainly help the Falcons O.  If Micheal Jenkins can live up to his potential and become a possession WR, then coach Smith has a pretty good foundation for a ball control offense.  Look for defensive help or O-line help in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.  The Patriots forfieted their 1st round pick so that will leave 2 to 3 potential high picks out there on draft day.  If Ryan is not available then look to Chris Long-DE or even Darren McFadden-RB.  This is a very good spot for the Falcons.  I for one hope that they make the right choice in this spot.
