AFC CHAMPIONSHIP BREAKDOWN

This game should not be a contest. The road to History & SuperBowl is wide open and it is theirs to lose. A rematch of week 2, the Bolts were victimized by the Pats with the controversy of “SPY-GATE”. Then the Chargers were healthy, but were getting adjusted to the new gameplan by Norv Turner. Now it’s all on the line and the Chargers are banged up after their upset win over the Colts. the keys to this game will be interesting at best.

Lets start with the Chargers keys to victory:

1) L.T. although hurt and banged up, must not only play but play well. B.Volek may have to start the game or at some point take over for P.Rivers who is also banged up. Give L.T the ball often, it will be cold and you have a good 1-2 punch with M.Turner lightening the load.

2) QB play will have to be flawless. The Pats love to make teams one dimensional. Pass D is their forte, they don’t stop the run well. No matter who the QB is don’t try for the home-run ball.

3) FIRST DOWNS & Clock Managment, control the ball early and often. Use long drives to tire out the aging LBs of the Pats. Force them to put 8 in the box and hit them with short to medium passes and DON’T STOP THE CLOCK!!!!!

4) TOUCHDOWNS NOT FIELD GOALS. The Pats love to keep it close or runaway with the game. The Bolts must score TDs every posession. 3 point drives will not beat the Pats.

Keys for the PATRIOTS:

1) Wes Welker will be paramount for the Patriots “O”. In lew of recent events for R.Moss and the Bolts have good cover corners, Welker will have to be the man in this one.

2) Run the damn ball. L.Maroney shows up some games and sometimes he does’nt. The little dumps to Welker has been a substitute for the inconsistent run game. It needs to be on point this game, the Bolts corners can cover and tackle as well. The LBs for the Bolts have a tentancy to over pursue, in the cold and possible snow this will make the run very dangerous for the Bolts

3) Defensive pressure on L.T. Make the QB beat you. The LBs for the Pts are getting old ,but they are seasoned enough to know to stay in their lanes and keep L.T. moving east to west.
