My Sister I Stand Alone
Defending Australian Open champion Serena Williams was defeated in the quarterfinals. This marked the fifth straight grand slam event that Williams was defeated in that round since winning the Aussie open last year. A disheartening straight set loss to the third seeded Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 6-4. With sister Venus looking on thier seemed to be something wrong with Serena all match long. After cruising through the first four rounds playing seemingly at a high level it all came crashing down all at once. Her serve let her down and too many unforced errors (36) did in the defending champ. Now Venus stands alone as the only hope for Williams’ sister to win the first Grand Slam title of the year.

During the show last night I was watching Serena play and her energy level was low. I don’t know if her knee was acting up again but she was not playing like herself. I could be wrong or it could just be that she has lost three times to her already.

I am not surprise as good as Serena is she is not totally focus on tennis alone. Serena has a lot of things going on besides tennis and you know what for Tennis age Serena is getting a little long in the tooth so Serena who is the best womens player still her age and other outsides adventures maybe catching up with her.
