Defending Champs No Match For The Sonics
My vote for Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant did his thing yesterday as the Seattle SuperSonics beat the defending NBA Champs 88-85. The San Antonio Spurs played without Tony Parker and since starting 17-3, the Spurs have gone 11-13 while enduring other injuries to Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. The Spurs are now 9-9 without any of their Big Three. Duncan was frustrated most of the night. He still scored 27 pts and Ginobili had 29 pts.
Durant, who is averaging 19.3 pts per game scored 26 points, including the jump shot with 32.6 seconds remaining. The Sonics won for the fisrt time since Dec. 29. This ends a fourteen game losing streak for the Sonics.
