Giants Vs. Patriots-Running Backs !!!

Written on January 29, 2008 – 6:37 am | by Harry Robinson |

The New England Patriots are 18-0 due to Tom Brady and the outstanding recivers he has, but the ground game also has been a factor as well.  For all the talk you hear about Brady and the air attack the key to there AFC Championship victory was these two guys Faulk and Maroney.  Faulk the back up running back behind Maroney was the leading reciver in the game against the Chargers with 8 catches and 80 plus yards.  Maroney who was injured a few weeks out of the season still was able to rush for 800 plus yards and in the AFC Championship game ran for 122 yards.  For the Giants in there last game against the Packers Bradshaw and Jacobs ran for a combine 105 yards.  Jacobs did run for over a thousand yards and Bradshaw didn’t start carrying the ball until week 15 against the Bills, but was very explosive and maybe the best threat out of all backs the Patriots did not play against Bradshaw so the Giants do have advantage on that end, but at the end of the day that damn Faulk who reminds you of Roger Craig the great 49ers.  I have to give the edge to the New England Patriots.
