BCS Mess but they Got It Right

Written on December 3, 2007 – 9:52 pm | by kbarkley |

Okay people understand this. There is no playoff in College Football and there will never be one. Accept it or just stop watching this great sport. The BCS has it’s flaws but time and time again they get it right. The two most deserving teams this season are playing for the National Title. Ohio State was undefeated for 10 weeks and ranked number for about six of those weeks. The only loss came to Rose Bowl bound and second place in the Big 10 Illinois. The Tigers according to their coach were also undefeated ( at least in regulation) and their two losses came in triple overtime. Now let’s look at the teams behind these two. Virginia Tech was 2:13 away from us not having this discussion at all. If the Hokies can keep Matt Ryan out of the endzone one time they are in Louisiana. Now let’s also look at the head to head. Remember the second week of the season,LSU 48 VT 7 enough said. Georgia your up next. Now I’m not going to even touch on the fact that the Bulldogs didn’t even not only win their conference but they didn’t even play in the championship game. Also you have to remember back to when they traveled to Knoxville and got thrashed by the Vols, who played in the Championship game, 35-14. Oklahoma yes they beat number 1 Missouri for the Big 12 title and they are playing very well right now. But the loss to Texas Tech absolutley kills their argument. Kansas( see Georgia). Let’s look at the hottest team in the country right now, USC. Does anyone remember the Stanford game? Case closed. The two best teams with the best bodies of work are playing for the title. Sit back and enjoy it.

Great sport?????? last I checked in the popularity polls College football has dropped to 4th most watch sport on T.V. Behind the NFL,NBA,NASCAR…….by the way all these sports have a playoff. Its funny how people whos teams have benefited by this BcS system are always in favor for it. maybe your teams arent as good as you might have us to believe and you need help. Fact is no other sport has their most important title decided by people who don’t play. BcS is a guessing game at best, listen to yourselves ,,,,”THEY GOT IT RIGHT” WTF???? WHO GOT IT RIGHT?????? oh yea not the players….they can’t decide for themselves and the NCAA pockets are just no fat enough to let them. You can really keep this “GREAT” game of yours a system where pockets get fat, championships are decided based on other peoples opinoin, and good kids get screwed by those other people……..YEA GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!

Chance look at what you are saying.First you say that College Football is fourth in the popularity polls behind those three sports you listed. Those are three professional sports it’s supposed to be that way. What you can’t deny is that with the system that is in place, yes it is flawed, the two best teams throughout the entire season not just the last four or five weeks but the entire season they are the two best. Again people like yourself don’t like this sport but you continue to talk about it which leads me to believe that you are watching it. I think College Football is doing what they want. To have people like yourself that casual fan tune in.
