Weekend Review- College Football
Now What? With their loss to the Illinois Fighting Illini Ohio State not only lost a shot at the National Title but their colassel matchup with Michigan, along with the Wolverines lost to Wisconsin 37-21, has lost it’s luster. Now we have only one team that is undefeated with a shot at the title. That just so happens to not even be ranked as the top team in the country. Kansas, undefeated and ranked 3, has a potential of two huge matchups upcoming. Missouri this week and with a victory Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. Lose one of them and we have a bunch of one-loss teams vying for two spots. Now I know you guys really want a playoff now. Even though I don’t agree it would be a lot of fun to see. Even if nohing else there were a four team playoff that would decide a lot as well. Remember I just said it would be fun not that I wanted it. In a year where no team is better than any other who is to say they are the favorite. LSU, who could easily be a three or four loss team, has to still get by a potential rematch with a hungry Florida team or even worse a red hot Georgia team. Oregon could be the biggest loser in this whole thing. With the “sexy” part of their schedule now in the past they could really be on the outside looking in. The team with the most to gain could be the Mountaineers of West Virginia. Pat White and the gang now sit in the fifth spot with teams playing each other right ahead of them. Back to the action. My Heisman pick, and I’m not being a homer, Tim Tebow ripped through the Ol’ Ball Coach to the tune of 7 touchdowns. He once again carried the ball over 25 times for more than 120 yards and five touchdowns yea I said five touchdowns. He also threw for two more. The Gators kept their slim division hopes alive with the 51-31 victory in Columbia. The Orange Bowl saw it’s last game and what thud it was. Through all the classic not only College but NFL, SuperBowl, Bowl games and the Hurricanes turn the lights out forever with a 48-0 loss to the Virginia Cavaliers. Shame shame shame.
