43 is Enough
Now I know that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are not what they used to be. They are not what they want to be. What has been a constant for the last 43 years is Notre Dame will beat the Midshipmen from Navy. Well that streak is over as Navy beat Notre Dame 46-44 in triple overtime in South Bend. In a very exciting game the Irish faced fourth and 16 on their own 31 yard line. After a 18 yard completion for the first down the drive concluded in a touchdown that tied the score at 28. Three overtimes later saw Navy quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaka-Enhada threw a 25 yard strike to Reggie Campbell who also caught the two point conversion to make the score 46-38. Notre Dame countered with a touchdown of their own. Navy looked to celebrate a play early as their first two point play was knocked away. A pass interference call gave the Irish one more chance. Navy stopped the run and the field was flooded with Navy players. This is just one example of how the Irish are a long way away from ever returning to prominence.
