Mayorga Wins By Decision!!!

Ricardo Mayorga(R) of Nicaragua connects with a right against Fernando Vargas of the US during their Super Middleweight fight at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Mayorga knocked down Vargas in the first and 11th rounds to capture a majority decision here Friday in a duel of former world champions, sending Vargas to retirement in defeat.

The fight for respect went down last night.  Mayorga and Vargus went at it toe to toe.  Vargus stated that this was his last fight and was going to go with a bang and beat Ricardo Mayorga. It was bad blood for the start of the fight when Mayorga said”I will make your wife stop crying cause I will beat you up so bad you won’t fight no more.”

Mayorga started out fast with a first round knocked down and set a tone from the begining.  Mayorga also knocked Vargus down in the 11th round and won by a majority decision.  Vargus who is now retired has a record of 26-5 22 k0’s.

“He beat me,” Vargas said. “Luckily, I don’t live just for boxing, I have other things that I’m doing. This will be my last fight. I thank all my fans for all they’ve done for me, from the bottom of the my heart. Luckily, I have a phase 2, and 3.  Mayorga now says he wants to move down in weight and take Miguel Cotto or Floyd Mayweather.
