NLCS is set!!!!!!
October 6, 2007 |
The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies are set to battle for the National League Pennant. The Diamondbacks finish off the hapless Cubs and Lou Pinella in a three game sweep with a 5-1 win in Wrigley on Saturday. On the same day the Rockies ended the season of the Phillies 2-1 to complete their own three game sweep. One of these two teams will advance to the World Series breathing fresh air into baseball for the “Fall Classic”. Both teams bolster strong pitching staffs with Brandon Webb(Diamondbacks) and Josh Fogg(Rockies) but also veteran leadership sprinkled in there as well Livan Hernandez(Diamondbacks) and Todd Helton(Rockies). Helton had played in over 1500 games without seeing the postseason now he has a shot at the World Series. What makes these two teams so great are their young talent. Chris Young leads off for the Diamondbacks along with Stephen Drew at shortstop and mister excitement himself Eric Byrnes. The Rockies counter with MVP canidate Matt Holiday and Rookie of the Year canidate Troy Tulowitski. This should be an outstanding series that will have the casual baseball fan saying “who are they” at first but by the end will be saying “those guys are good”. Starters have yet to be set for game 1.
