Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer, Rich Rodriguez, Mack Brown, Greg Schiano, Tommy Bowden all needed the pink stuff. After a crazy weekend in college football I’m not going to lie I needed some too. My beloved Gators lost on a last second fieldgoal to the Auburn Tigers 20-17. Stoops troops, the Oklahoma Sooners, fell on the road to the Colorado Buffaloes 27-24 on a last second fieldgoal as well. Rodriguez’s gang, West Virginia Mountaineers, got it handed to them on Friday night by the now sixth ranked South Florida Bulls 21-13.By far the coach who’s team look like they were looking ahead to Showdown Saturday next week had to be Brown’s bunch, the Texas Longhorns, looked as if they didnot want to be on the field at all Saturday. A Kansas St. team that ended a win streak last year looked as if to have the number of the Longhorns scoring a 41-21 knockout. Schiano’s soldiers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, ascended to the top ten for the second year in a row. And for the second year in a row that stay lasted exactly one week after the Maryland Terps whipped the Knights 34-24 in New Jersey. Tommy’s team, Clemson Tigers, came to Atlanta with two of the best backs in the ACC and left with a sour taste in their mouth as they were stung by the YellowJackets 13-3 as the vaunted running game could not get going for the Tigers. Again many observers will say this kind of a weekend screams for a playoff. Again I beg to differ because with a playoff system if it were in place this past weekend would mean as much as it does right now. The Gators, Sooners, and Longhorns are desperately scrambling to redefine their seasons now. With a playoff those respective teams would just jockeying for playoff positioning. This is truly why College Football is so great because of weekends like the one we just had. Next week should be great as well with so many heavyweights going at it.

it sure is funny that after all that smack talk the gators now have the same record as the cornhuskers…..life sure is grand!!!!! So i guess college football is over for you now too?

Uh no if you take a look at the polls we stand in the top ten with all the teams in front us have to play teams that can beat them so we will be fine. If you remember at the beginning of the year anyway I said that if you are going to beat the Gators it better be this year because we are so young. Another point remember last year the Gators lost to Auburn and won the National Title. When you are a Gator you can stand to lose one game and still be in the top ten not hanging on at 25 thank you very much BC go watch your sorry Lakers.
