New York Mets manager Willie Randolph watches his team play the Florida Marlins during the fifth inning of their baseball game, Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Shea Stadium in New York.

Not since the middle of May has the New York Mets have been looking up to 1st place.  The Mets have lost there fifth game in a row and now with a Philadelphia win the Phillies now is in 1st place in the N.L.East.  If the Mets do not make the playoffs this will be the biggest collaspe in franschise history.  The 2006 N.L. East Champs now have to look in and see what they are made of, but it might just be too late.  Jimmy Rollins the all-star second baseman said at the start of the season ” We will win the N.L.East.” with only just two games remaining he might just be right.
