Bull Rush

It’s your boy K-Boogie and let me tell you about this team from the Tampa area in Florida. The South Florida Bulls are definitley the second best team in the state as they Beat West Virgina 21-13. This game for alot of people made them believers in the Bulls. Not me. I became one last week when they dismantled North Carolina. Why? you ask. Well tonights game was dubbed as the biggest in school history and for most programs on the rise the game before that one is usually a struggle. What this team did to the Tar Heels showed me that they are ready for their close up.This defense is truly one of the best units in all of college football. They have tremendous team speed but even more than that they fundamentally sound. You could count on one hand the amount of missed tackles. For a team playing against the Mountaineers that is saying something with Steve Slaton, Pat White, and super freshman Noel Divine. The defense forced six turnovers held Slaton to 54 yards and knocked White out of the game late in the first half. Coach Jim Leavitt, who has been with the team since the beginning of the program in 1995, should get major consideration for coach of the year. Leading 14-6 at the half the Bulls faced a fourth and short at their own 36 yard-line on their opening possession of the second half. Instead of punting the football he decided to go for it and they made it. That decision led to a touchdown a 21-6 lead and ultimate control of the game. After that he put the game in the hands of his defense. One of the six turnovers happened late in the third quarter when it seemed that the Mountaineers would score a touchdown but the Bulls turned them away with a interception in the endzone that may have been the back breaker. West Virginia kept fighting and pulled within eight with a touchdown in the fourth with just under six minutes remaining. The Bulls would turn away their last threat when on fourth down the Bulls forced a incompletion and 67,000 at Raymond James stadium erupted. Now this team if they run the table will definitely be in a BCS bowl but if things fall their way could be in the hunt for the big prize. Beware of the Bull rush.
