MADDEN REVIEW

If you haven’t heard or been sleeping under a rock, Madden 08 dropped monday at midnight. I was there to purchase as well a research for the sideline show the addiction to Madden Football. I have a PS3 and was looking forward to an exciting game with hella graphics. I was not disappointed. This is not the best version Madden as released, But it’s very good. If you are new to the PS3 system and you have Madden the graphics will stun you. They are very crisp and clean, movement is almost exact with button and analog stick moves. On the PS3 version the first thing that jumps out at you is Coach Madden does not commentate your games. It sounds like you have a headset on and your listening to the radio. Thats was cool I was one of those people who always yelled at the commentators during gameplay. This guy isn’t quite that annoying. Another thing you will notice is the load in screen you can have real clips of your fave team in action (GO COWBOYS)! Now I have started my franchise mode and I think it is so much better than last year. First you don’t have training camp, I was beginning to worry. Camp is one of my fave modes. As I moved on to pre-season I found you can train 3 people every week before the game including the regular season. This was cool and I chose who gets trained. So seeing I only had 2 QBs on my team( Romo, Johnson) Ipicked up another one from free agentcy. I only had 19. mil for resigns and for the year so i wanted to go young and cheap. I got Boise State’s Jared Zebransky. Was gonna try and maybe develop him to take the second spot after Johnson retires. He had low score so it was looking to be a long term project. The different excercises are fun to do,and by the way if you have a injured player and you need him back you can also use these camps to rehab him back to health. No injuries yet (knock on wood). I moved M. Barber into the starting position after J.Jones was having a bad preseason. Zebransky was showing some improvement in his training so I put him in the 4th quarter of 3 games to see how well he faired against live opponents. I was impressed he didn’t make any major mistakes. He wasn’t ready for the 2nd spot yet, maybe next year. My defense still had some issues. My secondary is getting older and Williams can hit but can’t cover, Newman can cover but can’t hit. Will be addressing that area in the off-season. These guys will have to do for now. I have a very good pass rush so QBs shouldn’t have a lot of success against me. During the pre-season I also helped my Linebacker corps, training one LB every week. These guys are young and can hit and cover ok, But i need help with run-support. My receivers are ok with training,I will have Owens and Glenn’s replacements if they try to back me in a corner for more money.So thats it for pre-season will contiue to give you reviews as I play Madden 08.
