Does Vick Deserve Jail Time or a Shot at Redemption
In recent weeks, message boards and sports radio stations have talked a great deal and sometimes occasionally hilarious with the sociology of dogfighting.
Is it gangsta?
Is it redneck?
And judging from the early reactions to news of Michael Vick’s guilty plea, the callers and the message posters seem to believe that Vick deserves a punishment straight out of the Middle Ages.
Burned at the stake, perhaps?
Or maybe stoned.
Is that right??? Also at the very least, he should be banished, never again allowed to play American football for money.
Yes, The People have spoken. Fortunately, the NFL is not a democracy. The fate of Michael Vick — by which I mean what, if anything, remains of his football career — rests with one man. That would be Roger Goodell.
Now just entering his sophomore season as the league’s boss, Goodell has already established his bona fides as America’s law and order commissioner. He’s changed the rules, and in the process, gone a long way toward improving the NFL’s reputation as a league that winks at the most felonious behavior. Under Goodell, criminal conviction is no longer a prerequisite for discipline. Bad behavior can be recognized for what it is, and dealt with accordingly.
Federal prosecutors in Richmond are expected to recommend a sentence of one year to 18 months at Vick’s plea hearing next Monday. August 26, 2007.
Between You and I, do you think he STILL has a shot?
This is not an I told you so…this is an opinion…from you to me to see if there is anyone that feels what is going on is right or wrong.

For me it is situation where I struggle because I feel what he is being accused of if true is horrible. It is sickening and I’m not really a dog lover. He hhimself has single handedly ruined his own career. Whether it’s hanging with the wrong crowd or fighting dogs he did this to himself the media didn’t do it they are reporting it and maybe putting a few extra spins on it. He has noone to blame but himself.
