I’m with you BB Davis, since we are going to talk college football, lets also talk some HBCU football too.  After leading the SWAC in scoring last season, the Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff return the bulk of their offensive firepower plus tailback Mickey Dean who turned heads as a freshman in 2005.  Quarterback Chris Wallace and wide receiver Jason Jones are a pair of All-SWAC seniors and meanwhile, junior tailback Martell Mallet will help out with Dean.  Wallace was named the SWAC’s Offensive Player of the Year last season, passed for 1,978 yds and league leading 19 touchdowns.  He was only intercepted seven times and had a passing efficiency rate of 169.7.  The Lions, however, are expecting a significant amount of contribution from newcomer linemen Stephen McElwee, Jacob Riley, Jason Thomas, Colton Jones and Courtney Shaw. 

In defense the Loins are looking for leadership from senior Aaron Hence, junior end LeDarius Anthony, Junior Lineback Timothy Turner, Junior lineback Jared Dorn, junior saftey John Keith and junior cornerback Aaron Eugene.  Hence who broke into the starting rotation about mid-season a year ago, is the lone senior returning on defense. He finished with 27 tackles while recovering one fumble.  Even though they won the Western Divison Championship last year, the main question is can they do it agin.  With the cast of players that are returning UAPB has one heck of a chance.
