#10 Phil Rizzuto 1916-2007

August 14, 2007 |

The man that says “Holy Cow” is no longer with us.  My childhood broadcaster Phil Rizzutto aka the scooter passed away today he was 89.  Rizzuto stood at 5 foot 6 and maybe weight no more than 140lbs.  He was born in

Brooklyn in 1916.  Rizzuto played shortstop for the New York Yankees from 1941-55.  He also served three years in the Navy during World War 2.  Rizzutto won seven World Series and in 1950 won the MVP award for the World Series, and played in 5 all-star games. Rizzuto was a Yankee broadcaster from 1957-1995.  I pray and hope I can be in the broadcast game as long as he was God Bless to the old “Huckley

Berry
.”
