The East Takes the West
It was another well played match up in the Nations Capital. Last night the WNBA All-Star game took place with the East winning 103-99. This is the second year in a row that the East has won. And the leading players last night Detroit’s Cheryl Ford and Indiana’s Tamika Catchings. Also Ford took home the MVP honors , she finished with 16pts, 13 rebounds and five assists, but Catchings had 15pts, 11 rebounds and seven assists. To break it all down last night the All-Star game is about fun but from the way the East played last night it look to me as if they were trying to prove something. The West did lead most of the first half by as much as 11, but the East came back, as Washington’s Alana Beard got assists on three consecutive baskets in the last minutes before halftime. That tied the score at 53, DeLisha Milton-Jones had 11 points and five rebounds, while Beard had eight points and eight assists. Also last night Washingtons’ own hometown girl Laurie Koehn won the 3-point competition and San Antonio’s Becky Hammon won the Dribble, Dish, and Swish.
