Chipper for MVP?
July 25, 2007 |

Yeah I never ever thought I will ever have to write this article, but Chipper Jones is a candidate for National League MVP this year. The Braves being only 3 games behind the N.Y. Mets and Andrew Jones having his worst career ever batting, Chipper Jones has almost single handily kept the Braves in the National League hunt. Take a look at where Chipper Jones ranks this year in the National League. • Ranks 1st in NL in BA (.347), • Ranks 1st in NL in SLG (.606), • Ranks 2nd in NL in OBP (.440), • Ranks 2nd in NL in OPS (1.046). Can you say MVP?

I can’t believe you wrote this either. There is noway Chipper should win the MVP when you have division leaders with candidates far more deserving. You have Prince Fielder in Milwaukee and Jose Reyes with the Mets. Kill that talk please and any talk about this man for the Hall of Fame.
