NCAA FOOTBALL 08 review

The grass is cut and the lines are drawn, college football is almost upon us. If you can’t wait till August then check out NCAA FOOTBALL 08 by EA SPORTS. This game is fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Everything you love about college football is ” in the game “. This the best installment yet of the college football games. Watch out Madden you may be looking over your shoulder.

Years ago the NCAA FOOTBALL series was the prelude to MADDEN. You know how the graphics were gonna look, game play, and other new stuff they put in MADDEN you got to see a piece in NCAA FOOTBALL. Well those days are over This game stands on its own, the game play is wonderful for the PS3, for the X-BOX360 the graphics are outstanding. you will love the Leadership role for your team. the better the leader does, so goes the team (Texas vs USC National championship game). The recruiting system has been tweeked for faster play, and more competition for the new crop of players. Yet and still if you play as a powerhouse like K-Boogie’s beloved Florida Gators, You will find that as long as your team wins then the recruits will beat down the school doors.

If you are looking for a challenge then try a really low ranking school. I used North Texas State, believe me this was a challenge. First up the schedule, I went thru and tried to schedule some good teams to play, Ok that did not go so well, none of the powerhouse teams wanted to take a shot at me, not even Florida!!! To move along I played thru season one . We won the Sun Belt title and the best Bowl game we could get was the Cotton Bowl , we didn’t get a shot at a National Championship. We were 10-0 and we beat Texas,Oklahoma,Kanasas State, Texas Tech. NO LOVE FOR THE LITTLE SCHOOL!!!!!!!! Although we did recieve a invitation to play in the Big 12 next year. Baylor out and We are in. Maybe now we will get some love now!!!! GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the review the passing game is really nice and realistic, The more pressure the harder it will be for your QB to get control of the situation. Running game little better than last year, You can still pickup nice gains and pad stats for your heisman hopeful, But the Defense will pick -up on your gameplan if you run only 3-4 plays. So EXPLORE YOUR PLAYBOOK!!!!! A balanced run game with some good passing will keep the defense on it’s heels.

On Defense introducing the hit-stick!!! yes thats right the hit stick from Madden is now on NCAA 08. TURNOVERS,TURNOVERS,TURNOVERS is the key on D. When you are at home, make every player from the other team think twice. Between the crowd noise and the hitstick, it will be off and poppin!!!!! Run stoppin is at a whole new level, the backs seem to find the crease will make you pay if your LB is out of postition. The pass rush is also a lot of fun QBs tend to throw the ball a lot quicker when you slam them a few times which means I-N-T-S galore. Unlike the Pros where everyone on the team can break one on you , the college ranks certain people are supposed to get the ball. Find those guys and smother them like a blanket you will be well on your way to the #1 defense in the country.

My final grade is…………………….A- could have been an A+ but stillno love for the little school.
