Vanderbilt 2007 Preview
4-8 overall 1-7 SEC 9 offense 7 defense both kickers return
If there ever was a program that was starving for success it’s this one. Having not been to a bowl game in 24 years will do it to you. It was 2005 and all everything quarterback Jay Cutler had Vandy at 4-0 and looking good.
Then the wheels fell off as the team went on to lose 5 of their last 6 games to finish 5-6. Now sophomore quarterback Chris Nickson and All-American wide receiver Earl Bennett look to feed this hungry Commodore nation. All five starters return on the offensive line. A bevy of talent returns on defense as well. Improvement is needed, but that can attributed to the offense putting them in better position. LB Jonathan Goff, FS Rashard Langford, DT theo Horrocks, and DE Curtis Gatewood headline the unit. This is a make or break season for the ‘Dores. The talent is there and eight home games helps as well. Games against Kentucky (Nov 10) and Wake Forest (Nov 24) are crucial.
