Is it possible for Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett to co-exist on the same team? It may seem fiction but according to the Los Angeles Times sources on Monday said that the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves are discussing bringing power house Kevin Garnett to LA. Trade discussions involved the Lakers, Wolves, Pacers and the Celtics.  The Pacers would give up Jermaine O’Neal and the Lakers would get Garnett, while the Timberwolves would land forward Lamar Odom and center Andrew Bynum. On Thursday’s draft the Timberwolves may also get Boston’s No. 5 pick.  But the Celtics are not happy with their end of the deal. Even the GM of the Timberwolves has his doubts about the deal, he is not happy with the fact that he may get Odom and Bynum.

So where does this lead Kobe you ask?? Bryant has repeatedly asked to be traded over the past months, but with the option of KG coming to LA, could this change his mind.  Garnett averaged 22.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists, were Bynum and Odom only make up half of that. For now, Bryant still feels that a trade would be the best thing but maybe now he will reconsider his decision.  Coach Phil Jackson as also had several discussions with Bryant, trying to understand why he has such mixed feelings. But for now no trade has been set in stone so just like you America we will all have to wait and see what will be come of the Lakers and Garnett.  However, it the trade does go as planned a Bryant – Garnett All-Star team would be interesting to see.
