2007 NBA DRAFT

Written on June 26, 2007 – 9:36 am | by bcourtney |

With the draft just days away, many people are still wondering will it be Oden or Durant going No.1.  Here is our mock draft and how the draft may go on Thursday night.

  •  1)       Portland Trailblazers – Greg Odem (OhioState)       Even though Durant did a better job at tryouts verses Odem, GM Kevin Durant still has his eye on him.
  •  2)       Seattle SuperSonics – Kevin Durant (Texas)   The Sonics will probably pick whoever Portland does not, but what this team needs is a big man
  • 3)       Atlanta Hawks – Al Horford (Florida)   The Hawks want Horford if they can keep him
  • 4)       Memphis Grizzlies – Mike Conley (OhioState)       Interesting pick if they do pick Conley, since they pick a point guard last year in Kyle Lowery
  • 5)       Boston Celtics – Yi Jianlian (China)      Danny Ainge is still trying to decide between Jianlian and Jeff Green, but I think a trade is in Ainge favor.
  • 6)       Milwaukee Bucks – Jeff Green (Georgetown)      Bucks are looking at Horford or Conley, but if they are gone then it will come to Green or Brandan Wright
  • 7)       Minnesota Timberwolves – Joakim Noah (Florida)    Noah wouldn’t help much on the offensive end, but he would give them much-needed size and energy in the frontcourt.
  • 8)        Charlotte Bobcats – Corey Brewer ( Florida)   Bobcats like Brewer and USC’s Nick Young. Brewer’s the better defender, while Young’s the better offensive player.
  • 9)       Chicago Bulls – Spencer Hawes (Washington)     Hawes, offensive skills could give the Bulls some desperately need points.
  • 10)   Sacramento Kings – Brandan Wright (North Carolina)    He fits the need and has to much talent to pass by.
  • 11)   Atlanta via Indiana – Acie Law (Texas A&M)    The point guard situation will be addressed with this pick
  • 12)   Philadelphia 76ers – Al Thornton (FloridaState)      The Sixers need a power forward, but the worthy ones may be gone by this time.Thornton’s a scoring machine and would be a nice complement to Andre Iguodala
  • 13)   New Orleans Hornets – Nick Young (USC)  Young is the ideal fit. He’s an excellent shooter and a big time athlete.
  • 14)   L.A. Clippers – Julian Wright (Kansas)     Wright would be a good fit in LA, Mike Dunleavy like smart, versatile, point-forward type players, and at this point he is a steal.
  • Make sure you listen on Saturday when we review the outcome of the draft.
