Shea stadium was rockin 2 nite.  Due to the N.Y.  Mets beat up on the Twins with a 8-1 victory.  Mets starting pitcher John Maine threw darts the whole night by tossing a three hit shut out.  Maine struck out four and walked two, and at one time sat down 10 straight batters.  Carlos Silvia wasn’t that lucky for the Twins.  He gave up 4 runs 10 hits in just six innings.  Silvia came into the game with the lowest ERA on his ball club with 3.16.  The loss for the Twins pitcher record is now 4-8.  John Maine the winning pitcher his record is now 7-4.

The hitting stars for the Mets were Delgado,Reyes,Ledee and David Wright.  The win has put the N.Y.  Mets 8 games over .500 and still lead the N.L. East by 1.5 games.
